My blog is about football and the great team of Chelsea F.C. I do love football, which Americans think is called soccer. Though I am said to be born in Texas, I believe that I was born in the wrong country. But that is beside the fact..I shall talk about any and everything under the sun concerning football. Comments are welcomed both good and bad.

Waiting for Two Things
First I am waiting on my Drogba jersey from Chelsea.. Secondly, I am waiting for the 10/11 season to begin. This year will be for Chelsea to repeat their double of last year and go for the treble. Essien is back for Chelsea as is Mikel. These are two young players that they will need in the future. Some of their players are getting older and they will need to bring up some young blood fairly soon if they are to keep up the winning ways.

Like I Was Saying
Spain won. In some kinda style, I guess. They did win with class. Though there was some diving by Iniesta. However, the biggest sign for me was how even at the end, as a sub, Torres couldn't play because he pulled his hamstring. If any club was smart they would leave him alone and let Liverpool sort him out. It is ridiculous how he can not stay healthy. First, he doesn't finish out the EPL season because he went under the knife to fix his knee, which kept him out for a majority of the season. He caught flak from that stunt because the fans thought he was just gearing up for the world cup. Now, since he did win the world cup(in a way I guess he helped), I wonder what the fans will be saying now. THEN, he pulls up and lays prostrate on the ground with 3 minutes left in the world cup. What team would want to pick this "non" player up? He didn't score. At all. I would rather have Llorrente, he took on defenders with skill and didn't give the ball away because of a poor touch. Torres did. Give me anyone else besides Torres. Get healthy and work on your touch and my views of him might change.

The Final
So I'm still a little sad that Germany lost to Spain. I'll soon be over it however. I predict the score to be 3-2 Spain over the Netherlands. That is all I have to say about that today.

Can't wait til the next round!
So I'm still rooting for Germany and Spain. Netherlands has the opportunity to crush the world and show how Brazil is not the powerhouse most non fanatics think that they are. I believe that the Netherlands can win, however they must shut down the midfield of Brazil if they are to do that. The other game, Ghana v. Uruguay could be very exciting match, it is going under the radar, and I'm not sure why. Ghana is the only African team left in the World Cup. Uruguay is one of 4 South American teams left, Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina being the others. Uruguay has stealthily edged their way into the quarterfinals with a few bumps but have easily, or most easily won over their opponents. I'm not sure who to pull for, but Ghana I believe will somehow win. I don't know why I'm saying that but I believe they will fight harder and shut down Uruguay's midfield and defensive strengths. Germany over Argentina. Spain over Paraguay.
